THE ORDWAY PLACE

(1789 - 1951)

The old barn stands empty now,
out behind the house
on a hillside covered in apple
and the remembered sweetness
of days gone by,
of cows in the evening,
of fresh hay in the loft,
of giving all a man could take with his hands, and his
plow.
The old barn stands empty now.
